Missions Ministry

As a church, we recognize that God’s work extends far beyond our own congregation, and we want to be part of what He is doing past our own walls. Seeing the need for the gospel in our community and around the world, we feel called to help our church step into that mission by praying, supporting, and participating in the great commission both locally and globally.

We want people to experience the joy of joining God in what He is already doing. When we do that, we develop a greater burden for the lost, a deeper trust in the Lord, and a growing desire to live for something bigger than ourselves.

What sets this ministry apart is our aspiration of sending people who are spiritually prepared, relationally connected, and humbly committed to servanthood. We want missions to be more than an event — we want it to shape how our church lives, prays, and loves people near and far. Whether the trip is short or long, here in town, national to Los Angles, or international to Mexico or the Philippines, we make it a priority to stay rooted in God’s Word and prayer together. Our desire is to serve in a way that reflects the heart of our church by living out the pillars of love, hospitality, and service wherever we go.

You don’t need prior missions experience to get involved. Whether you’re simply interested in learning more, want to pray for missionaries, or are considering serving on a trip, there is a place for you. We encourage first-time participants to come with an open heart, a willingness to learn, and a desire to see how God might use them.

If you’d like to get involved, join us at our next quarterly Missions Ministry meeting or reach out to Pastor Nelis at nebersohn@ccgreenvalley.org.

For me, missions is all about, loving, encouraging, sharing the love of Jesus across lands and peoples. Relationships built, it’s so humbling you go there to serve and end up being served by them.

I was raised in a Christian home. My Father was mission minded and had a heart for the communities around the church. This rubbed off on me. God has given me a great desire to go out and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Whether it is serving in the Children’s or Women’s ministry here, the homeless in my community, helping with

maintenance in Mexico or teaching children the love of God in other parts of the world.

My “yes” is on the table. It truly is the joy of my heart to serve God in the mission field. I am always excited to see where He takes me next. Here I am Lord, send me

Missions were never on my radar— I was content going through the motions until the Lord began calling me out of my comfort zone to obey Mark 16:15, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature,” even though I felt unqualified and afraid.

When I finally said yes, God met me every step of the way, reminding me through 2 Timothy 4:2 to “Preach the word… be ready in season and out of season,” and showing me that while I thought I was there to bless others, I was the one truly blessed.
